Rachel Hoff International Women’s Day: Raising Awareness on Breast Cancer

International Women’s Day has a checkered history. It was first observed in 1909 by the Socialist Party of America. Over the years, the day has been used to rally for causes from workers’ rights to peace movements to feminism.

Today International Women’s Day has a different tone around the world. In some countries it is celebrated like Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day as an opportunity to honor the women in one’s life by giving flowers or gifts. But in the U.S., this often-overlooked hol… Continue

Jan Larimer, RNC Co-Chairman A Bad Day for Reid

Last Friday, upon the release of the latest monthly jobs report, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said, “Only 36,000 people lost their jobs today, which is really good." Harry Reid made these comments because he is simply out of touch with the American people and his constituents in Nevada, which doesn’t speak well of Senator Reid’s leadership. Senator Reid deserves to be voted out of office if he is so out of touch with his constituents that he truly believes it is good news that 36,000 more… Continue

Karen Ritter Indiana Senate Race

There are about 2 months until the Indiana primaries. Fortunately for us, Indiana is now in a "Leaning Republican" state according to www.realclearpolitics.com. This is a great change from the previous 2 elections that resulted in two comfortable wins for Sen. Evan Bayh.

Here are the Republican candidates:

Dan Coats, former Sen., founded The Foundation for American Renewal with his wife - .

Jan Larimer, RNC Co-Chairman It Should Take 60 Votes

The health care bill now being pushed by the White House would fundamentally rewrite a full sixth of the economy of the United States. It would grant the government unprecedented control over how our health care is paid for, which doctors we are allowed to see and what treatment options we are able to consider.

Jan Larimer, RNC Co-Chairman Eight Months to Go

Exactly eight months from today, the American people will go to the polls. What we do over those next eight months will decide whether we elect a common-sense, conservative Congress or hand the Democrats another two years to try to give the government more control over our health care, our jobs and our lives. If a day is an eternity in politics, you can imagine what can happen in eight months. Yet, the way forward for our Party is clear. The lessons we should take to guide us until Election Day… Continue

Lisa V. Nancollas hate mail

Hi, i received my first piece of hate mail on my car window while was in Pittsburgh at a mall. I am assuming that it was because of my republican stickers and my tea party stickers attached to my car bumper. Has anyone had to deal with this yet? The hate mail told me told me I was racist against black people and Obama. I didn't know that not agreeing with the government made me racist.

Jan Larimer, RNC Co-Chairman Columbus Summit Update

Ohio gubernatorial candidate John Kasich just took the stage at today's summit to a standing ovation from fired up Republicans from Ohio and elsewhere in the region. He followed former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino, who spoke to the attendees about the importance of believing in themselves and stood as an example that women can do anything in our Party. Former Representative Kasich is speaking about the importance of making sure that we hand down an America to our children and grandch… Continue

Jan Larimer, RNC Co-Chairman Summit Update

U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) just finished up her address at the RNC Regional Women's Summit in Columbus. She gave an inspiring talk about the gains the Republican Party has made nationally and the opportunity our party has to change the balance of power in 2010. Senator Murkowski also gave an update on the status of health care reform legislation. The simple fact is that the voters don't trust Washington to fundamentally take over such a large segment of our national economy. The Democra… Continue

Jan Larimer, RNC Co-Chairman Columbus Summit Update

A panel discussion is underway featuring Ohio U.S. Senate candidate Rob Portman, Ohio GOP State Chairman Kevin DeWine and several other statewide GOP candidates in Ohio. The focus of the panel is on empowering the grassroots to win elections. Elections are won in Ohio just as they are all over the country - with friends and neighbors going door to door and making the phone calls that are necessary to win. Earlier, RNC Political Director Gentry Collins presented data to the summit showing how fa… Continue

Jan Larimer, RNC Co-Chairman Columbus Women's Summit Underway

Despite a winter storm warning, several hundred women braved the snow this morning to attend the Regional Women's Summit in Columbus, OH.

The RNC Women's Programs hosts this series of summits to give women around the country the opportunity to network, get involved and hear from a dynamic lineup of speakers about how they can help win elections back home in their own towns, counties and states. Jan Larimer, RNC Co-Chairman Health Care Summit or Used Car Sale?

With the White House's health care summit at it's halfway point, the meeting looks more like a bait and switch trick on a used car lot than a negotiation over how to make health care more accessible and affordable.

The White House and congressional Democrats lured Republicans to the table with the promise that conservative reforms to health care would be considered. But as the date of the summit neared, the White House made clear that the only bill up for discussion would be the prop… Continue

Jan Larimer, RNC Co-Chairman What SHOULD Be On the Table At Health Care “Summit”

The White House will convene a “bipartisan summit” on health care tomorrow with Republican leaders and Congressional Democrats. Unfortunately, this summit will be held on the Democrats’ playing field and will be conducted under their terms.

Instead of starting from the beginning with Republican cooperation, President Obama decided to double down on the previous failed health care bills. His proposal released this week was,… Continue

Robyn I have officially filed to be a candidate for US Representative in MO

Yesterday I made the trip to Jefferson City, MO to place my name on the ballot. I am now officially running for US Representative in the 1st Congressional District of Missouri. My districts boundaries changed after the last census and many people who were moved to the first district were upset about the change in their representative and just stopped voting. This is the year that we will strive to turn that around. My district has been "represented" by the Clay family for the last 41 years and t… Continue

Jan Larimer, RNC Co-Chairman RNC Women’s Summit

This weekend the RNC Women’s program, in partnership with the Ohio Republican Party, will present another in a series of regional summits designed to activate and train female Republicans to volunteer, work on campaigns or run for office themselves. This summit will be held in Columbus, OH at the Hyatt on Capitol Square.

We have a dynamic agenda set for our participants. We are honored to have scheduled speakers including Senator Lisa Murkowski, former White House Press Secretary Dan… Continue

Jan Larimer, RNC Co-Chairman Return to Sender

With elections in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts, the voters of America sent an unmistakable message to the Obama Administration about the proposed takeover of health care. Today, the White House has given their response to that message sent by the people: Return to Sender.

Ahead of a PR stunt billed as a bipartisan summit, the Obama White House today released their new plan to take over 1/6th of our nation's economy. Unfortunately, the only thing new about the plan is the ma… Continue

Jan Larimer, RNC Co-Chairman 3.3 Million Problems With White House Storyline

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of the signing into law of the $862 billion dollar “stimulus” package.

Never one to miss an opportunity to trumpet increased government spending, President Obama sent cabinet members, White House officials and party operatives yesterday into every corner of the country to tout the jobs that were supposedly “created or saved” by the stimulus bill.

There are only about 3.3 million problems with that storyline pushed by the White Hou… Continue

Jan Larimer, RNC Co-Chairman First, Do No More Harm

A lesson that the Obama Administration and their
allies in Congress have apparently never learned is that the first thing to be
done when you're in a hole is stop digging.

Now, new polling shows that 57 percent of Americans believe Congress should
scrap the Democrats' health reform bill and start over. The PR hole the
Democrats have dug themselves is getting d

Judy Veeneman Women in Office

Hello all,

I have two great women friends that are running for local public offices. Goes without saying they are both Republicans! Cynthia Jackson, field rep. for former US Congressman David Davis is a candidate for Mayor in Hawkins County, TN. Joni Cannon is a candidate for County Commissioner in Carter County, TN. I am really excited about this. I remember listening at the NRC Women's Summit to the many speakers urging women to run for office. But as you know, all campaigns need fun

Jan Larimer, RNC Co-Chairman Can't Negotiate Without a Partner

Last May, House Republicans asked the White House to hold bipartisan discussions on health care to find a way to reduce the number of uninsured and bring federal health spending under control. The White House declined and instead chose to write a massive health care bill in secret that is filled with political payoffs and is roundly rejected by the American people. Obama has invited Republicans to a so-called “bipartisan health care summit” two weeks from now. House Republicans sent a letter t… Continue
