"You Asked and We Listened"

The Obama White House has trotted out its road show following the State of the Union address and the release of the president’s budget proposal this week to sell its plan to spur job growth. But in their haste to show that they are now focused on jobs after spending a year pushing a failed health care bill, they have missed the fact that the GOP has already offered a common sense, budget neutral jobs plan.

Republicans in the U.S. House have released a jobs plan that deserves to be considered. Instead of clamping down on American businesses with mountains of regulations under a cap and trade bill, the Republican plan calls on the President to issue an executive order halting any proposed regulations that could cause a net job loss.

Instead of raising taxes by $2.8 trillion, as the President proposed in his budget, the House Republican plan urges a bipartisan commitment to block any tax increase until unemployment once again falls below 5 percent.

And instead of doubling the national debt over the next ten years as the Administration’s budget proposal calls for, the House Republican plan would freeze all domestic discretionary spending and demonstrate our government’s commitment to reducing the debt and protecting the dollar.

The Republican Party is not the party of no solutions, it's the party of better solutions. The sooner the Obama White House and Congressional Democrats invite Republicans to a seat at the table, the sooner the American economy will be on the road to recovery.
