It seems that every week brings new data showing unemployment rising across almost every sector of the economy. Except for the federal government, of course.
Buried in the president’s budget proposal released this week are
figures showing that the government will grow to include over 2.15 million jobs this year – more than in any year in the nation’s history. This is up from the years 1981 to 2008, when the government included between 1.1 million and 1.3 million employees.
The Obama Administration has just two answers to every problem. If they can’t fix something by throwing more of your tax dollars at it, they’ll try to do it by making the federal government bigger and bigger. When the economy turned sour, this administration’s answer was to waste away $862 billion on their stimulus. When they attempted to reform health care, their path to do it was by attempting a total government takeover.
The American people don’t want government involved in every aspect of their lives, and they want their tax dollars to be treated with respect. The Obama Administration has yet to get that message, but if recent events at the ballot box are any indication, they’ll get it loud and clear this November.
